ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Division
The Information and Communication Technology Division (তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি বিভাগ), abbreviated to ICT- Division, is a department of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology of the executive branch of the Government of Bangladesh.
In 2002, the ministry’s name was changed from ‘Science and Technology to ‘Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology. To give more thrust to the ICT sector the Division upgraded to the Ministry of Information & Communication Technology on 04/12/2011. The change is evidence of understanding of the importance of ICT from the highest policy level and indicates that the government is keen to keep pace with the changing world. After that on 10/02/2014 Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of ICT are integrated into the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology. On 10/02/2014 Ministry of ICT started as an ICT Division. The change has brought new life to the activities of the Information & Communication Technology Division.
