Pidim Foundation
Pidim stepped into 26 years of its journey towards its goal of amelioration of the economic and social status of the poor and marginalized community, in 1995. It often had to travel a dicey and tortuous path and yet not lose sight of its goal. The progress that it has made so far bears testimony to its organizational capacity to sustain and grow. This report narrates the progress made in the fiscal year 2019-20.
The operation of Pidim’s microfinance program encompassed 56832 members under 333 Unions of 56 Upazilas in 11 districts viz. Dhaka, Tangail, Manikganj,Gazipur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Comilla, Sherpur , Mymensingh and Brahmanbaria. In total BDT 3036.25, M was disbursed among 56832 borrowers belonging to 3785 Credit and Savings Group (Samity), and at the same time, BDT 2737.88 M was realized against the loan. The average loan size was BDT 53425 .00 and the rate of On-Time-Realization was 98.59% and the Cumulative Rate of Return was 99.48%. The net income from the micro-lending operation stood at BDT 52.98 m as of 30 June 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The total organizational equity capital as of the date was BDT 566.91M and the growth was 14.80% compared to the previous year. Organizational Self Sufficiency was 105.87% and Financial Self Sufficiency was 103.03% (the year 2020).
