Janata Bank Ltd. (Bengali: জনতা ব্যাংক লিমিটেড) is a state-owned commercial bank of Bangladesh established in 1972. Its headquarters is situated at Motijheel in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is the second largest commercial bank in Bangladesh. Bank Nationalization Ordinance of 1972 was used to form Janata Bank by merging the assets of United Bank Limited and Union Bank Limited.
